Open Twin

Open data for transnational digital twins

Themes
Digital infrastructure and public services
In collaboration with
Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV)

The aim of this project is to analyse transnational applications of digital twins in the mobility sector, focusing on their fields of application, the data they use – including open data – and their added value. Potentials, challenges and success factors as well as perspectives for future transnational digital twin projects are to be identified. To this end, existing and planned digital twin applications will be analysed with regard to their areas of application, data infrastructures and added value as well as open data as a key resource for implementation. The project identifies good practices and formulates recommendations for strengthening open, transnational digital twins.

The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV).
