The first nationwide award for Open Access honours scientists, research institutions, libraries, museums and other committed individuals who make research freely accessible or support others in doing so. A prize of 1,000 euros is awarded in each of the categories “Cooperation”, “Infrastructure”, “Knowledge transfer”, “Pioneering Achievement” and “Rising Star”. The award aims to promote an open and collaborative culture of education, research and learning in Germany. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) funded the project and we were responsible for its implementation.
