German Children’s Fund (DKH)

The German Children’s Fund (DKHW) pursues the vision of a society in which children can actively represent their own interests. As an organisation with more than 100 full-time and volunteer employees, DKHW has set out to develop a holistic AI strategy with binding guidelines for the use of generative AI systems in a participatory process.

iRights.Lab has been supporting the DKHW and its employees on this journey since the beginning of 2025: Based on the existing legal framework, it has developed a value- and reflection-based process for participatory guideline development and implemented it with the AI Taskforce. It provided support in the formulation of the guideline and offers internal organisational training and further education courses based on it.

In developing its guidelines, iRights.Lab was guided by the standards and values of the Code of Conduct – Democratic AI.
