Quickly plan and book your next holiday, automate the coordination of appointments or implement a personalised stock strategy: AI agents should make all of this (and more) possible. Unlike chatbots, they not only perform individual tasks, but can also control entire processes - at least in theory. Some experts have therefore already declared 2025 to be the “year of AI agents”. However, it remains far from certain whether they will live up to expectations in practice. Either way, AI agents are already raising a lot of questions - especially legal ones. Who is liable if their use causes damage? The developers? The provider? The user? The value chain behind AI agents is complex and responsibility is difficult to assign. What legal framework can provide clarity? What rules does the AI Act provide for the use of AI agents? This issue of prompt/ explores these questions.
