What roles can local authorities play in shaping mobility? What advantages does it bring for innovative projects to work together with municipalities? And what are the municipal framework conditions for shaping mobility?
This mFUND ideas sprint analysed the challenges of using data to solve various municipal mobility problems. The participants developed ideas for real problems that can contribute to better mobility in municipalities. For the methodical development of ideas, the participants are given an introduction to the basic principles and approaches of the design thinking method.
Innovative mobility-related projects require more than just information technology expertise within local authorities. They also need to be aware of the specific challenges that arise in areas such as data security and protection, data standardisation, data availability and data exchange. An open approach to the possibilities of digitalisation is essential for decision-makers in the municipalities. This is where the ideas sprint “Municipalities as drivers of digital mobility” of the mFUND accompanying research came in. At the interface between science, business and research, the participants discussed specific municipal mobility challenges and worked on new solutions.
