What roles can municipalities play in shaping mobility? What advantages does collaborating with municipalities bring for innovative projects? And what are the municipal framework conditions for shaping mobility?
This mFUND ideas sprint analysed the challenges of using data to address various municipal mobility problems. The participants developed ideas for real-world problems that can contribute to better mobility in municipalities. For the methodical development of ideas, the participants were given an introduction to the basic principles and approaches of the Design Thinking method.
Innovative mobility-related projects require more than just information technology expertise within municipalities. They also demand an understanding of the specific challenges that arise in areas such as data security and protection, data standardisation, data availability and data exchange. An open approach to the possibilities of digitalisation is essential for decision-makers in municipalities. This is where the ideas sprint "Municipalities as Drivers of Digital Mobility", part of the mFUND accompanying research programme, came in. At the intersection of science, business and research, participants discussed concrete municipal mobility challenges and worked on new solution proposals.
