The ethics of the digital age

Category
Publications & Magazines

Autonomous weapons, artificial intelligence, algorithms: Numerous ethical questions arise in an increasingly digitalised world. Where exactly are the problem areas? How should we deal with them as a society? Where does a rethink need to take place? The 20 contributions by selected international experts provide answers to these questions and contribute to a debate that will keep us busy for many years to come.

The digital transformation is putting our moral concepts to the test and leading to new questions in all areas of life: politics, business, social coexistence, communication and entertainment. In twenty contributions, experts from Europe, America and Asia take up the challenge of finding answers to the questions we are facing. The authors offer new perspectives on topics such as care robots, autonomous vehicles, personal drones and data ethics.

They present their ideas on how we as a society can deal with the digital challenges to our value system. Their contributions provide insights into current thinking on what constitutes ethically correct behaviour in the digital age. Above all, however, they are an invitation to reflect and join in the discussion.
