The trend in the development of AI is moving towards ever larger and more complex models. At the same time, it is becoming increasingly clear that the development and use of these models can have a significant impact on our environment, our economy, our coexistence, our everyday working lives and our cultural practices in many respects. Together with experts from science, politics and civil society, we have therefore asked ourselves how we can sustainably shape progress in this context. The conference “AI: Ever bigger instead of greener” took place on 29 January 2024 in Berlin and was organised by the Heinrich Böll Foundation in cooperation with iRights.Lab.
