Philipp Otto

Philipp Otto is the founder and director of the think tank iRights.Lab and one of the leading digitalisation experts in Germany.

He was head of the Innovation Office of the Federal Ministry for Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (www.innovationsbuero.net). His work focuses on the strategic development of structures, concepts and models for quickly and constructively overcoming the challenges posed by digitalisation and the Internet for politics and public and private institutions, and he was also a visiting researcher at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. He has published a large number of books, essays and strategic analyses at the intersection between law, technology, society and politics in the context of digitalisation, including “Das Netz. Annual Review of Digitalisation and Society” and the anthology “3TH1CS – The Ethics of the Digital Age”.
