Media packages of the iRights.Lab on behalf of the Siemens Foundation on the digital topics "artificial intelligence", "big data" and "algorithms"
Bringing digitalization into schools: With this mission, we at the iRights.Lab got to work and put together three exciting media packages on important digital topics for the media portal of the Siemens Foundation. With these packages, we want to support teachers in communicating digital topics in an age-appropriate way that is close to the world we live in, especially in times of home schooling.
Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Algorithms: The three topic packages, which form a good basis for teaching digital competence to schoolchildren, can be downloaded as self-contained media packages from the media portal of the Siemens Foundation.
The packages are divided into three parts. The first part explains the necessary basics, the second part presents practical examples, and the last part discusses opportunities and challenges for society. The factual content is conveyed in a cross-media format using factual texts, audio interviews, films, illustrations and infographics.
The media packages contain a pedagogical guide, an extensive list of links for further in-depth study, as well as task and solution sheets.
The two packages “Big Data” and “Artificial Intelligence” are already available, the third package on algorithms will follow shortly.
As Open Educational Resources, the packages can be downloaded free of charge from the Media Portal of the Siemens Stiftung and are available under the Creative Commons License CC BY-SA 4.0, which means that the package contents may be modified (e.g., new texts or graphics may be inserted into a worksheet), distributed worldwide (including the modified medium) or reassembled (e.g., two graphics from the Media Portal may be combined). The only prerequisite is that the name of the author(s) is given, any changes are indicated and the medium is distributed under the same conditions and the licence is stated.
