iRights.Lab supports the German Foundation for Monument Protection
We are providing our expertise in both content and organization for the nationwide coordination of Germany's largest cultural event, the „Tag des offenen Denkmals®“, which will take place on September 13, 2020. The German Foundation for Monument Protection (DSD) has included us in its team for the comprehensive range of technology on offer.
Where normally millions of visitors throughout Germany experience the approximately 8,000 monuments, craftsmen’s and merchants’ houses, castles, churches, industrial plants, ships and archaeological sites at close quarters, this year the health of the participants is the top priority. After all, the Corona pandemic has upset our everyday lives. So the doors of the monuments in the analog world remain closed for the most part. At the same time, however, the digital gates are being opened wide and we are helping to open them wide.
This is primarily a matter of answering general or very specific technical questions that arise on the part of the monument owners, municipal institutions or associations. This is done via a specially established and supervised technical hotline, which is especially designed to provide assistance in case of uncertainties in video, audio or photo production.
In addition, there are further online offers for planning, implementation and follow-up of digital offers, which also focus on legal questions concerning data protection and copyright. From now on, online courses will be offered for this purpose.
A handbook, which was created in cooperation with DSD and is available for download, provides an overview of technical and legal tips for implementing digital heritage formats in an attractive way.
We support the foundation in enabling the organizers to create their own digital contribution to the Open Monument Day.
All information and registration options for the online offerings are available at www.tag-des-offenen-denkmals.de.The hotline can be reached under the number 0228 9091 — 477 always on Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 10.00 and 12.00 a.m
